Select + Start, 3 seconds
Use your controller as a mouse on Windows
Couch gaming on a PC keeps hitting the same wall: a launcher pop-up, a browser tab or a sign-in window that ignores your controller. With Onyro running, hold Select and Start for three seconds and your controller becomes a mouse.
The controls
| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Turn the pointer on | Hold Select and Start for 3 seconds (Create and Options on a PlayStation controller) |
| Move | Right stick |
| Click | A or the right trigger |
| Right-click | Left trigger |
| Turn it off | Hold Select and Start again |
Where it works
Anywhere in Windows: the desktop, a browser, a launcher's sign-in or update window, even when another app is in front of Onyro. It works with Xbox controllers, PlayStation DualSense and DualShock 4, and controllers with an XInput mode.
Limits worth knowing
- Windows doesn't let apps like Onyro click User Account Control (admin) prompts, so those still need a real mouse.
- Some games running in exclusive full screen don't draw the Windows pointer.
- The pointer works while Onyro is running.
Other ways to do it
Steam Input's desktop layout turns a controller into a mouse while Steam is running. Free tools such as Gopher360 do the same job on their own. Onyro builds it into a couch launcher, so there's nothing extra to install or keep running.
