Onyro

2026, without replacing Windows

How to turn your Windows gaming PC into a controller-friendly couch setup (2026)

This does not replace Windows. You still have a PC. Onyro Game Room only gives you a controller-first shelf for games that are already installed.

1. Sign in to Windows

Do this at the desk or with a keyboard. Onyro cannot sign in for you, and it cannot wake a PC that is off or asleep.

2. Install Onyro from the Microsoft Store

The public copy is Onyro Game Room on the Microsoft Store. Updates come from the Store. Version on this site: 0.2.10-beta.

3. Open it once

No store accounts to connect and no plug-ins to install. Open Onyro once, turn on the optional startup helper, and it appears when you sign in to Windows. It finds installed games from Steam, Xbox, Epic, GOG, EA, Ubisoft, Battle.net, Rockstar, Riot and itch.io. Add a folder if something is missing.

4. Use the controller

Move along the shelf, start a game, and let the original launcher run it. Hold Start + Select for 3 seconds if you need a mouse. Doing the same again hides the mouse. Click a text field if you need the keyboard.

5. Leave the session

Quit the game and the shelf comes back. Exit, restart or shut down from the controller. Each action asks first.

What you still do in Windows

Driver updates, store logins, admin prompts and anything Microsoft handles stay in Windows. Runs on Windows 11 and Windows 10 version 1809 or later (64-bit). For security, use a Windows version Microsoft still supports.

Onyro uses artwork already saved by your launchers, so manually added games may need artwork set in their original source.
